Job Description Summary
Under the general direction of the Executive Director of the Northern Alameda Adult Education Collective, coordinate the implementation of the Adult Education Block Grant. The incumbent is responsible for coordinating the activities that support achievement of the Adult Education Block Grant (AEBG) objectives. The incumbent works collaboratively with administrators, faculty/teachers and staff of all Consortium members to support effective project management.

• Organize and coordinate implementation of the activities, services and operations of the the Adult Education Block Grant project, including facilitation of faculty groups
• Manage reporting for the Adult Education Block Grant Initiative in collaboration with the Working Group
• Chair the Northern Alameda Adult Education Collective faculty groups steering committee, coordinate meetings, set agendas, and maintain meeting records
• Implement project objectives according to the timeline established
• Collaborate regularly with administrators and staff regarding instructional programming, and on other matters as necessary
• Administer data regarding participants and program outcomes
• Prepare and submit quarterly reports to the Northern Alameda Adult Education Collective community on program activities and accomplishments
• Create and/or archive project documentation
• Attend meetings required by funding sources, which may require out-of-area travel
• Attend conferences relevant to the program and keep current with trends and developments in the fields of learning outcomes, assessment, basic skills education, high school diploma or equivalency, ESL, adults with disabilities, and career training.
• In conjunction with the adult schools and Peralta Community College District Research Office, coordinate and compile data and prepare grant reports
• Maintain relationships with teachers, faculty, business, labor, industry, governmental agencies, and community organizations
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Executive Director or designee.
Minimum Qualifications
1. A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
2. Three (3) or more years of experience in teaching in adult school or community college
3. Strong communications skills (written and verbal) and the ability to present complex academic information to diverse audiences.
4. Knowledge and proficiency in the operation and use of personal computers utilizing various software applications (i.e., word processing, spreadsheet, and database management software) including the Internet
5. Understanding of, sensitivity to and respect for the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of the Northern Alameda community.
Desirable Qualifications
• Experience in coordinating programs in an educational setting
• Experience in project management
• Experience with data gathering and reporting preferred
• Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills; excellent organizational skills
• Ability to work in an educational setting with staff at all levels
