This twelve (12) month per year position will be on an individual contract. This classified administrator position will be placed on Range 12 of the Administrator Salary Schedule. Step placement is based on experience. Initial salary step placement for new employees is customarily at step 1, 2, or 3 ($10,360.00 / $10,515.00 / $10,672.00 per month) of this 20-step salary range.
All administrators are on an employment contract and exempt from overtime and compensatory time accumulation.
Probationary period for new Classified employees is six months. Work year is 12 calendar months. The normal workweek for this position is 40 hours. Paid holiday, discretionary, and sick time are provided. Ten vacation days accrue during the first year of employment. A regular work schedule will be assigned, with the ability to occasionally work a flexible schedule as needed with supervisor approval.
The Santa Clarita Community College District/College of the Canyons is seeking a full-time Director, Employee Training Institute (ETI) in the Workforce and Economic Advancement Division.

“BIG PICTURE” RESPONSIBILITY:
Under the administrative direction of the Assistant Superintendent/Vice President, Workforce and Economic Advancement (WEA), this position implements the District’s contract education and grant-funded workforce training programs. Leads in the marketing of ETI contract education programs and Fast Track Training, and assists in marketing Center for Applied Competitive Technology (CACT) and Small Business Development Center (SBDC) programs. The primary focus is on marketing, developing, promoting, and coordinating contract education services and related workforce development programs offered by the District to business, industry, government, and non-profit agencies. Works in collaboration with the Vice President of WEA, other District Directors, and the local Workforce Investment System to implement cutting-edge short-term programs for job training and employment. Performs other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is required.
Five (5) years’ full-time equivalent experience in training program development, marketing, and contract management for workplace training and education programs or experience in developing, marketing and implementing training programs either internally or externally. Prior experience must include two (2) or more years’ demonstrated experience managing projects.
